Sampling frequency 48 or 96* kHz 48 kHz 48 kHz 48kHz 48kHz
Number of bits per sample 16/20/24* compressed (16/20/24) compressed (16) compressed(20) compressed(?)
Data transfer rate 768-6144kbps 64-448kbps 32-912kbps 64-1536kbps ?-1280kbps
Number of channels 1-8* 1-5.1 1-7.1 1-5.1 5.1-7.1
* not all combinations supported due to 6144kbps bandwidth limit. All channels has to have the same sampling frequency and number of bits per sample.
** not yet available on any software or supported by any player or consumer decoder.

On actual discs containing at least one soundtrack:

  NTSC PAL
Mandatory Dolby Digital or Linear PCM Dolby Digital or MPEG audio or Linear PCM
Optional extra track(s) Any of the allowed audio formats Any of the allowed audio formats
